  • Prebiotics and postbiotics (Balance Moisturiser) — help maintain a balanced skin microbiome by supporting the production of beneficial bacteria in the skin.
  • Niacinamide (Balance Moisturiser) — vitamin B3, with anti-inflammatory properties that visibly calm blemish-induced irritation while helping to regulate oil production.
  • Beta-glucan (Balance Moisturiser) — a natural extract derived from oats that helps to soothe and comfort the skin.
  • Cinnamon extract (Balance Moisturiser) — naturally antibacterial, it helps to limit congestion-causing bacteria and balance oil production.
  • Glycolic acid (Glycolic Acid Activator) — an AHA that exfoliates the skin surface for a visibly smoother, brighter and decongested appearance.

How to use

Patch test at least 24 hours before first use.

  • After cleansing morning and evening, apply Balance Moisturiser evenly across the face, neck and décolletage.
  • In the morning, leave it to absorb before applying sunscreen.
  • For exfoliation, use Glycolic Acid Activator two to three evenings a week: after cleansing, apply 4-6 drops to the face, neck and décolletage.
  • Once the Activator is dry, follow with Balance Moisturiser.

Apply the two products separately — do not mix Glycolic Acid Activator and Balance Moisturiser directly. Do not use the Activator during the day, as glycolic acid can make skin more sensitive to sun damage.

FAQ

How often should I use the Glycolic Acid Activator?
Two to three times a week, in the evening only. The moisturiser itself is for morning and evening.
Can I mix the two together?
No. Apply the Activator first, let it dry, then apply the moisturiser over the top.
Can I use the Activator in the morning?
Medik8 advise against it, as glycolic acid can make skin more sensitive to sun damage. Keep it to the evening.
Can I use it alongside a retinal?
Yes. After cleansing and toning in the evening, apply the Activator, then your retinal, then Balance Moisturiser.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Medik8 cannot give advice on pregnancy. Discuss the ingredients with your doctor or midwife before use.
