Where to Start with our Chemical Peels?
Book a pre-peel consultation and test patch
We will book you an in-clinic consultation appointment convenient to you, so we can discuss your skin goals. We will advise the best in-clinic and at-home regime for you.
At this initial consultation, we will talk through our recommended approach to help you meet your skin goals and test patch you for your first chemical peel. This will likely involve 6 Medik8 professional peels (spaced 10-14 days apart) and CSA homecare to use twice daily.
CSA is our core philosophy for achieving Beautiful Skin for Life: Vitamin C plus Sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night.
Skin Preparation
We give you your CSA homecare to prepare the skin for around 2 weeks before returning for your first peel. At the pre-peel consultation, we will take some pictures so you can track your progress over the course of the programme. We will also hand you your 12 Weeks to WOW Skin Passport which is a printed booklet. Please bring it with you to each appointment. Your therapist will help you fill it in to track your progress and the peel strengths you’ve experienced. It’s a great tool which will help your therapist tailor the very best programme for you. We are able to dial-up or down the types and strengths of each treatment so your experience is truly bespoke to you. Plus homecare can be reviewed as and when you need top-ups.
The First Peel
After 2 weeks of consistent at-home CSA use, you will return to our clinic for your first of 6 professional peel treatments. You can read what to expect from a peel below. All Medik8 peels have Time-Release technology which means that discomfort is minimised. Every skin is different, but many clients describe the experience as either itchy or just increased heat on the skin. You can ask the therapist to remove the peel at any point in the treatment, but we find the majority of clients are easily able to leave the peel on the skin for the recommended 10 minutes. In most cases, keeping it on for the full 10 minutes enhances the results. However, time may vary dependent on skin condition or type.
After the peel treatment is concluded, it is neutralised by your therapist and cool, soothing gauzes are placed on the skin to normalise it as quickly as possible. we will then pamper you with relaxing aftercare using layers of soothing serums and creams tailored to your skin type. You will leave our clinic make-up free but with a Medik8 After Peel homecare which includes everything you need to care for the skin for the next 3-5 days. Your therapist will advise you how to use it to get the best results and book in your next appointment.
Peels 2-6
After 10 to 14 days from your first peel, you will have your second in-clinic appointment for peel 2. Using your Skin Passport notes, your therapist will discuss how you felt the first treatment was and how it felt on the skin. Based on this discussion, your therapist will advise what’s needed for peel 2. The process repeats every 10 to 14 days until all 6 in-clinic peels are complete. Your therapist will recommend top-ups to your homecare as and when you need them along the way.
The Big WOW Reveal
After completing your 6 peels, we will schedule one last in-clinic appointment. During this appointment we will review the process and compare your before and after pictures. As well as celebrating the results with you, your therapist will advise how to prolong them. We will recommend an ongoing maintenance regime to help you retain Beautiful Skin for Life.
